We have lift-off.
On September 2 to 4 2015 the FIRES project was launched. This EU-funded Horizon 2020 project aims to develop Financial and Institutional Reforms for the Entrepreneurial Society (FIRES). The FIRES project starts from the basic premise that to have inclusive, sustainable growth in Europe we need to channel more of Europe’s talent, ideas and resources into experimental, innovative entrepreneurship. To do so, we should go beyond the traditional “entrepreneurship policies” that inform, subsidize and deregulate, but have failed to make much of a difference in the past three decades. Instead we need to rethink the institutions that European economies inherited from the past and apparently channel our abundant knowledge, human and financial resources into other activities.
